Conspiracy theories & chill

If like me you love a conspiracy theory, more so a light hearted one that you don’t have to think much about then this post is definitely for you. When reality isn’t strange enough, leave it to the internet to craft wild tales about our favourite celebrities, movies, and even cartoons. Buckle up, because we’re going down the rabbit hole of some of the most iconic pop culture conspiracies.

The Beatles Never Existed

Yes, you read that right. A slice of the internet believes The Beatles weren’t a real band but instead a rotating cast of actors and stand-ins. The theory claims that their insane touring schedules and evolving looks couldn’t possibly be the work of the same four lads from Liverpool. Apparently, no one considered that time, stress, and dodgy 60s hairstyles might’ve played a role.

The Disney "Frozen" Theory

Fans have speculated that Disney's hit movie Frozen was a deliberate distraction. From what? Well, it’s believed that Walt Disney's cryogenically frozen body is secretly stored somewhere in Disneyland. The theory goes that by naming the movie "Frozen," Disney cleverly shifted Google searches away from "Disney frozen body" to, well, "Let It Go" memes

The Pixar Shared Universe Theory

Unlike the others, this theory is more fun than unsettling. Some fans believe that every Pixar movie is connected, forming a vast shared universe. Hidden Easter eggs—like the Pizza Planet truck appearing in multiple films—support the idea. A popular extension of this theory suggests that Brave’s witch is actually grown-up Boo from Monsters, Inc..

Rugrats: The Dark Secret
Here’s one to ruin your childhood. Some fans believe the Rugrats babies never actually existed—except in Angelica’s imagination. Supposedly, each baby represents a different tragedy, like miscarriage or stillbirth, and Angelica made them up to cope. This theory is equal parts dark and totally far-fetched, but hey, it’s the internet—what did you expect?

Katy Perry is JonBenĂ©t Ramsey
This one’s a classic internet rabbit hole. Some conspiracy theorists believe that pop star Katy Perry is actually JonBenét Ramsey, the child beauty queen who tragically passed away in 1996. The theory hinges on supposed facial similarities and cryptic lyrics in Perry’s songs. Spoiler alert: there’s zero evidence, but it’s definitely bizarre.

Avril Lavigne was replaced by a clone
According to this theory, the real Avril Lavigne died in the early 2000s and was replaced by a lookalike named Melissa. Fans point to changes in her appearance and musical style as “proof.” It’s a wild ride, but Avril herself has laughed it off.

Keanu Reeves is Immortal
Keanu Reeves is so ageless that some fans believe he’s a vampire or time traveler. They’ve even created websites comparing his face to historical figures, like a 19th-century French actor who looks eerily similar.

What’s your favourite pop culture conspiracy theory?
Stay spooky xo
