Who is Bettie Karen?



Hello ghouls, gals and none binary pals.
Sometimes when I am reading someones blog I find myself looking for a post like this which i’m writing now. I absolutely love finding out a bit more about the person behind the posts, so I’ve decided to delve a bit more into who I am and why I started this blog. 

My name is Bettie, which I guess you all already knew and i’m from Greater Manchester. I live in a town around 40 mins from the centre of Manchester. 

I’m a December Capricorn. ♑️

I am currently single. I’m not really overly bothered about labels but to explain it a little easier i’d say I am pansexual. I have dated all people and will continue to do so. Regardless of gender identity, if I’m attracted to you and we get on, then we have a good chance.


I absolutely love horror. Horror games, films, tv shows, books ect. If it’s horror related i’m down. I also absolutely love everything about Halloween & Autumn, its my absolute favourite time of year. 

I was born in with a heart condition, which wasn’t found until I was six months old and at seven months old I had open heart surgery at Alder Hey children’s hospital in Liverpool.


My music taste is definitely a mixed bag. Some artists you’ll find on my spotify are: Bring me the horizon, Fall out boy, Stormzy, Chase & status, Fred again, Pendulum, Lana del rey, Bad omens, Sleep token, Gaga, Ice nine kills, Stevie nicks/Fleetwood mac, Jade thirlwall, Harry styles, Yungblud. I think I eventually will do a separate blogpost in regards to my music taste and delve a bit deeper. I am also extremely open to checking out new artists I haven’t really listened to before, so if you have any recommendations please send them my way. 

I started this blog in around late 2016, I think it was. I posted religiously on here and found a cute little community however I fell out of love with blogging for a long time and began to post here sporadically. I deleted a lot of my earlier posts when I decided to rebrand my blog last year, which I do kind of regret now, but ah well. What’s done is done. I had the intention of writing here a lot more last year which didn’t really go to plan. I guess life just took over and I went through it mentally last year so I couldn’t focus on or find the energy to write anything here at all. This time around i’m not going to put any pressure on myself to post, i’m just going to post when I feel inspired or have something I really want to talk about.


Some more intrests of mine include: Tarot, the paranormal, the afterlife, all things macabre, space and the moon especially, gigs, conspiracy theories, true crime ect.

I absolutely love to find a new series and binge watch it. Sometimes I even just binge watch things i’ve already watched, its like a comfort thing I guess. 

Speaking of tv shows these are some of my favourite: Buffy the vampire slayer, Stranger things, Everybody loves raymond, Big bang theory, Peaky blinders, The walking dead, Sons of anarchy, American horror story, Charmed.

I’m now thirty years old and of course with that a lot of people around me are getting pregnant and having children but that’s genuinely not something I desire. I’ve actively chosen to not have children and usually I don’t feel the need to explain to anyone why but i’m tired of seeing people judging those of us who wish not to pro create. For years I have said I don’t want children and i’m always met with responses such as “oh you’ll change your mind.” Or “that seems selfish”. Why?  From the other side of the apocalypse  Okay let me fan girl for a second… FALL OUT BOY ARE BACK OMG OMG OMG. Yes, they’ve released two new songs.. Love from the other side which you can listen to  here  and Heartbreak feels so good which you can listen to  here . Anyone who knows me personally or follows me on socials will know that Fall Out Boy are my absolute favourite band and have been since I was twelve years old, so when they started teasing new music I pretty much lost my mind completely. There new single Love from the other side  dropped everywhere on Weds 18th January and I haven’t stopped listening to it since. They then dropped Heartbreak feels so good on the 25th January which is just as good as the firdt single. They went a slightly different route with their last album Mania, which of course is completely fine and I actually really liked it however this new single is giving old school fob vibes and I am living for it. Scream VI (Film Review)

    image taken from the official  Scream  instagram WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD When I heard this film wasn’t going to be set in Woodsboro I wasn’t sure how I felt about it, but it definitely worked just as Scream 2 did. The backdrop to our latest Ghostface murder spree is now New York City. Tara, Chad and Mindy have moved to the city for a fresh start and to start their college life. Sam has also followed on in an attempt to make sure her younger sister stays safe and well doesn’t get murdered. Scream is famous for their opening scenes being kill scenes and as soon as I saw Samara Weaving on screen I knew it wasn’t good news for her character. I wish we would’ve had her in the whole film but unfortunately we didn’t. She was amazing though, I’m a big fan of hers so i’ll accept any crumbs we get from her lol.
